Tree-Top Obstacle Courses and Ziplines
- NEW IN 2011 - Ruby Falls Zipstream Aerial Adventure: an adventure above the rest” with never-before-seen views of the Scenic City from the tree tops at Ruby Falls. The challenge is made up of suspended obstacle courses built in trees that include ladders, nets, walkways, bridges, tunnels and zip lines. - Chickamauga Lake: 9 miles from downtown; Put in at TVA/Chickamauga.
Mountain Biking
- Lookout Mountain’s Guild Trail: 5 miles from downtown; easy trail with gentle grades up the mountain
- Camp Jordan/Brainerd Levee: 10 miles from downtown; easy 5.5 mile trail along South Chickamauga Creek
- Harrison Bay State Park: 12 miles from downtown; easy 4.5-mile single-track loop suitable for beginners and family
- TVA Raccoon Mountain: 9 miles from downtown; 16 miles of trails, beginner to expert
Recreational and Road Cycling
- The Tennessee Riverpark: 13 continuous miles along the Tennessee River, all paved and landscaped, scattered with parks, green spaces and attractions starts downtown and runs to Chickamauga Dam (includes the Walnut Street Bridge), suitable for anyone
- Downtown Bicycle Paths: 25 miles of designated bike paths through downtown Chattanooga, the North Shore, and St. Elmo. Ride the Incline to the top of Lookout Mountain and ride some more
- NEW IN 2011 - Enterprise South Nature Park: 2,800-acre park is located adjacent to the new Volkswagen site, 20 minutes from downtown; features 4.5 miles of walking/hiking trails; 10 miles of mountain bike trails; 5 miles of paved walking and bike roads; 7-mile driving loop; 1-mile ADA accessible woodland trail; 3 historical exhibits; and 4 picnic areas.
